Soul survivor David Arumugam recently lost his younger brother and soul mate Loganathan Arumugam.

On Loganathan's wishes, he is continuing with their band The Alleycats, and has roped in as his brother's replacement Gerard Abisheganaden, a cousin of Singaporean jazz singer Jacintha Abisheganaden.

David advises Malaysia's new singers especially those from Akademi Fantasia, Malaysian Idol, Mentor and One In A Million, to work hard and be serious in the music and entertainment industry.

He believes that Malaysian arts and music have a bright future for he and his late brother have always been optimists.

"Young artistes must always think positive and love what they are doing. If you love what you are doing you will work hard and excel," he says.

David advises all new artistes to always think Malaysian and perceive the entertainment industry as one big family.

"The best way to stay around for a long time and to keep your fans is to be kind and forgiving.

"We should not think of despising others because we are all one human family," he says.

David says while Malaysia has lost many veteran artistes such as his brother, he believes new stars will emerge in the years to come.

Among the new stars David and his late brother greatly admire is Jaclyn Victor.

Raja Soul David Arumugam yang baru saja kehilangan adiknya Loganathan Arumugam kini meneruskan perjuangan band mereka iaitu The Alleycats, bersama penyanyi baru Gerard Abisheganaden, sepupu penyanyi jazz tersohor Singapura Jacintha Abisheganaden.

"Petua terbaik untuk bertahan lama dan mengekalkan peminat ialah dengan bersikap baik dan mudah memaafkan orang.

"Kita sebagai manusia tidak harus benci-membenci kerana kita semua adalah saudara," katanya.

David berkata walaupun Malaysia sudah kehilangan ramai artis veteran seperti mendiang adiknya, dia percaya bintang baru akan tetap muncul.
