May The Ox Year Be Great One For Marsha - Pamela & Vanessa Chong

Lovely Amazing Race Asia 2 (Tara 2) runners-up Pamela and Vanessa Chong are celebrating Chinese New Year with their family members on January 25, 26 and 27.

This is their first Chinese New Year without their biggest fan, their late grandfather, businessman S. K. Chong.

The sisters are busy with their acting, modelling and hosting careers and are also taking up Mandarin (Beijing Chinese) lessons.

Their brother Vince has just returned from Taiwan, after completing a year’s study in the Chinese Cultural University, Taipei.

Vince took up a Chinese studies course, to fulfil his late grandfather’s wish that his grandchildren be fluent in Mandarin.

He also took part in a singing contest on Taiwanese television.

Vince is moving on to behind-the-camera work, producing music videos for Malaysian artistes. He is also a songwriter and composer.

Pamela is set to appear with her family pal Jaclyn Victor in the Yasmin Ahmad film Talentime later this year while Vanessa is set to appear in the comedy Kecoh Betul (Really Chaotic) with Malaysian Jim Carrey and Ben Stiller Saiful Azam Yusoff.

Pamela is also a choreographer who has worked with Suki Low in her music videos.

While Pamela, Vanessa and Vince are not born under the Ox Year, this year’s Chinese zodiac sign, they wish the first Ox baby that comes to mind, lovely Marsha Londoh, a great year ahead.

Marsha has been a staunch supporter of Vanessa and Pamela in Tara 2. She is currently acting in the cyber television series Kerana Karina (Because Of Karina), a production of entertainment portal and sister company of TV3, www.gua.com.my.

Her co-stars include Elaine Daly, Chelsia Ng, Tiara Hassan, Nabil Damanhuri and Roslan Aziz.

The Chong sisters and Vince also wish Suki, Jaclyn, Linda Nanuwil, Felix Agus, Burn Thevandran, Atilia Sarani, Emily Wong, Tricia De Cruz, Mas Ghani, Yazer Yusof, Velvet Aduk, Karen Tan, Rich Gimbang, Shone Majimbun, Ebi Yaimal, Ab Dungot, Mark Lorin, Stacy Anam, Joni Tham, Lotter Edin and Stanly David a great, successful year ahead.

Vince has written songs for Burn’s coming album and has performed duets with Marsha in Astro road shows.

The Chongs and Jaclyn also congratulate newlyweds Rich and Velvet, and Akademi Fantasia dance instructor Linda Jasmine Hashim on her coming marriage to Malaysian Jude Law Que Haidar (Tunku Ishan Haidar).

Pamela is an instructor in Linda Jasmine’s dance studio. Vanessa and Vince were once the choreographer’s business partners.

Adik-beradik jelita merangkap naib juara The Amazing Race Asia 2 (Tara 2) Pamela dan Vanessa Chong akan menyambut Tahun Baru Cina bersama keluarga pada Januari 25, 26 dan 27.

Tahun ini adalah Tahun Baru Cina pertama tanpa peminat terbesar Vanessa dan Pamela iaitu mendiang datuk mereka, usahawan Malaysia S. K. Chong.

Kedua beradik ini sedang sibuk membangunkan karier lakonan, pergawati dan pengacaraan masing-masing, serta belajar Bahasa Mandarin.

Saudara mereka (adik Vanessa, abang Pamela) Vince baru sahaja pulang dari Taiwan, setelah menghabiskan setahun belajar pengajian Cina di Universiti Kebudayaan Cina, Taipei.

Vince melanjutkan pelajarannya dalam bahasa Mandarin bagi memenuhi permintaan mendiang datuknya yang mahu cucunya mempelajari bahasa ibunda mereka.

Vince turut menyertai pertandingan nyanyian di stesen TV Taiwan.

Vince kini bekerja di belakang kamera menerbitkan video muzik untuk artis Malaysia. Dia turut menjadi penulis dan penggubah lagu.

Pamela akan muncul bersama kawan keluarganya Jaclyn Victor dalam filem baru Yasmin Ahmad Talentime hujung tahun ini, manakala Vanessa akan muncul bersama Saiful Azam Yusoff (Saiful Apek) dalam filem komedi Kecoh Betul.

Pamela juga menjadi koreografer untuk video muzik Suki Low.

Pamela, Vanessa dan Vince tidak berzodiak Lembu dalam kalendar Cina (tahun ini ialah tahun Lembu), tetapi mereka berharap tahun Lembu akan membawa berkat buat peminat setia mereka yang berzodiak Lembu iaitu Marsha Londoh.

Marsha amat menyokong Vanessa dan Pamela dalam Tara 2. Dia kini berlakon dalam drama TV siber Kerana Karina, terbitan rakan TV3 iaitu portal siber www.gua.com.my.

Kerana Karina turut dibintangi oleh Elaine Daly, Chelsia Ng, Tiara Hassan, Nabil Damanhuri dan Roslan Aziz.

Dafi Ismail Sabri attended the TV3 Music Awards on January 18, 2009 at the Bukit Jalil Stadium.

Lovely Malaysian Bryce Dallas Howard Liyana Jasmay is a dear friend of Pahang "kittens" Dafi Ismail Sabri and Aizat Amdan.

She likens the handsome duo to Malaysia's Zac Efron (Dafi) and Jamie Scott (Aizat).

The trio attended the TV3 Music Awards at the Bukit Jalil Stadium in Kuala Lumpur on January 18, 2009.

Aizat entered the finals of the Ballads category with his song Lagu Kita.

Ayu Damit gives her vote to Pija Yasin, her fellow Kota Kinabalu native. While Pija’s elder sister Naufara Yasin did not make it to the Top 12, Ayu, who studied in the same school as Naufara, is proud of both sisters for trying their luck in the challenging reality show of 8TV.

Superman Faizal Tahir Wins Big At TV3 Music Awards

Superman Faizal Tahir won Best Vocals, Best Performance and Best Ballad at the TV3 Music Awards or Anugerah Juara Lagu (Champion Songs Awards), the private TV station’s annual music awards which is part of weekly chart show Muzik Muzik hosted by Cheryl Samad.

His hit song was Sampai Syurga (To Heaven).

Aizat Amdan’s song Lagu Kita (Our Song) made it to the finals of the Ballads category. He wrote and composed the song, a first for an Akademi Fantasia graduate.

Ayu Damit’s song Hanya Di Mercu (Only At The Top) and Stacy Anam’s Aku Stacy (I, Stacy) made it to the Ballads and Pop Rock categories respectively.

Heliza Helmi’s Doa Dalam Lagu (Prayer In A Song) made it to the Ethnic Creative category.

Beware Of Sharks, Adam Advises Ayu

Lovely Ayu Damit has a million Malaysian ringgit, which 8TV holds in trust for her music career.

Her fellow Kota Kinabalu-born singer Adam Mat Saman reminds her to 'beware of sharks' who 'swim all around Kuala Lumpur'.

"There are many 'sharks' who invent sob stories about loved ones in need of funds. Ayu should always be mindful of them, and remember than great entertainers such as P. Ramlee fell prey to them," he says.
